"As
an adult re-beginning piano student... Steve seemed to pick
up on where I was and immediately joined me on that level of
understanding.
After
lessons with four other well qualified instructors, my first lesson with Steve
proved to be more productive than all the rest combined.
His
original piece 'Sixth Sense' has brought more clarity to the interlocking relationships
of music than any other teaching I have had.
Thanks to Steve’s brilliant compositions, Zen-like patience, and verbal
clarity, I consistently experience musical 'ah-ha's' as I employ his practical
and fun exercises. I’m always looking forward to my next lesson!"

"My
experience with Steve has been very helpful. I was challenged
with complex jazz concepts and skills in addition to having
a great time. I learned how to improvise, play music with others,
and about the connections between different components of Jazz.
Steve has taught me much more than I ever expected
to learn out of piano."

"I
studied classical piano for several years, but studying jazz
piano with Steve has been an entirely different process by
which I have been truly inspired.
Steve's patience and deep knowledge of music make him a superb
piano instructor for both the young and old, whether novice
or professional. Working with Steve has enabled me to
see the keyboard in ways I never thought possible."

San
Francisco-based jazz pianist and songwriter Steve Snelling
brings to bear over thirty years of professional musicianship
and personal journey in this exciting approach to practice
and performance.

musician comes from experience in "about a thousand bands - from American garage
to full-on symphonic mayhem."
His multifaceted background includes professional theater, modern dance,
and a master’s degree in Classical Piano Performance earned while in the prestigious
University of Northern Colorado’s Jazz Studies Program.
Steve makes his home in San Francisco, performing and teaching throughout
the Bay area.
